Features and benefits
Callis Reviewer helps you to remove defects as early as possible in the development process. And that's important because it minimizes cost and frustration!
| Purpose and focus! | Callis Reviewer helps you to plan reviews including assigning roles and focus areas to participants. People must know what is expected from them. This sounds simple, but will increase the number of defects detected. |
|---|---|
| Systematically using checklists | As a part of review planning check lists are allocated to documents. This is an important feature, as the use of check lists improves the number of defects detected. Both organizational wide and project specific checklists are supported. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the check lists are recorded and made available in as easy understandable indicators for further improvement. |
| Efficient user interface | Entering and using an application supporting reviews must be easy and efficient - otherwise people will find other ways. We are aware of that fact and meeting it with best-of-breed web user interface practices. An active web 2.0 application nicely designed and maneuverable using short cuts and tabbing removes most of the obstacles of keying in your findings - and when you have realised that Callis Reviewer eliminates the boring work of filling out a review report for the sake of your quality people, implementation of reviews becomes a whole lot easier. |
| Providing you with metrics | Callis Reviewer provides you with indicators to answer your questions about product quality and review process performance. Indicators can be produced across projects, document types, time etc. Get answers to questions like 'how many defects do we typically find?', 'how often is this check list used and does it find any defects when allocated?' and 'how many reviews did we perform and how many defects did we remove since we started using Callis Reviewer?' + a whole lot more! You will have quantitative data to support your decisions about what is beneficial to improve. |
| Configuration and data quality | Roles, types, severity codes, checklists, document approval codes, document types - all of these are configurable parameters in Callis Reviewer and can be changed to fit the need of your organization - or you can start easy using our standard values and decide if you want to change these values later. If you decide to change, all old configuration data are kept in the system and still used when fetching old reviews from our review store. This is important in order to preserve the quality of the data. |
| Supporting review meeting activities | The review meetings become more efficient using Callis Reviewer. The review leader will know before the meeting starts, if participants are prepared (from the status overview tab). Findings will be known in advance - no surprices! Findings are sorted, ready to process in order. Assigned actions are clear to everybody. Approval of documents are supported by providing relevant metrics at the time of the approval - prepation rate, defect density, defect distribution. No 'la la' when approving - you will see the facts before you, when you make the decision. |
| Visibility | Review reports and metrics are easily available to the rest of the project, the manager, the QA people. The quality of the document will be known and the quality will improve. Visibility into product quality and process performance is key to improving, and using Callis Reviewer this is just part of the package! Look across projects, look across document types, look across checklists... |
